(Copied from T&G) Chad Ingram Age: 44 City: St. Marys Marital status and immediate family: Married, wife, Anna Ingram; father, Johnny Ingram. P r e v i o u s elected office: Not applicable E d u c a t i o n and military service: Camden County High School, class of 1996. Occupation and employer: District Sales Manager – Empwr- Solar; Church and community affiliations: First Baptist Kingsland Introductory Statement Having spent most of my 44 years of life in Camden County I am excited to be running for Post 3 in the city that I care about the most: St. Marys. Honorably serving on the City Council would be a great responsibility for anyone. My youth offers an advantage in newer thinking, but my experience as a leader provides many opportunities to be strategic and thorough. I feel prepared and motivated through my professional experience, which allowed me to successfully connect and work well with generational colleagues and customers. My 20-plus years in sales have provided career experience in planning, initiating, evaluating and even pivoting when necessary. I want to bring those skills to the table along with respect for the taxpayer. I have recognized through leadership in other community groups and events that it is time for my “generation” to step up and lead locally. Becoming a more business- and property-owner-friendly community is vital to many who call St. Marys home. It became so important to my wife, Anna, and me that we purchased a home in the historic downtown district, so our family can enjoy the small-town atmosphere, and we can also work to be a part of the business community that has great potential. I humbly ask for your vote and support to allow me to work to enhance and make St. Marys a go-to location for business development, events and coastal memories that residents as well as visitors can enjoy.
My second priority is to find more ways for city leadership, council and staff to create better communications with citizens and business owners. I believe the role of any City Council member is not to have the answers to everything, but to make sure all points of view are considered before making decisions that impact others. While I have personal opinions about a lot of issues, my personal opinion isn’t as important as hearing what citizens think. My third priority is a personal one. I want to better understand the city budget and finances so I can make sound financial decisions. Almost every issue that comes before council relates to funding. I need to know what our total debt is today, what financial obligations have we committed taxpayers to with current and proposed projects and how reliable our revenue sources are and what are the risks associated with every decision we make. New streams of revenue are essential if we are to grow, but that growth must be managed in a way that increases the tax base and not just increase taxes to current residents and businesses.

Note: This City of St. Marys Candidate Forum (Oct. 2022) was recorded from two vantage points. The video recording on the left (City of ...) has good audio. However, the recording does not include the last 15 minutes of the Candidate Forum. The video recording on the right is complete.
